Denise couldn't remember if there was a mailbox...well, yes, there is.
Here's a little peek into the south pasture...looks like some tallow trees that will make the early hit list.
It was hard to get a shot of the ancient magnolia in the front yard, but I tried.
Another view into the south pasture...very lush and screaming out to be cut.
The previous night's rains left the ground in shape to document trespassing ungulates...only 30 yards from the house. Likely a small doe.
The south side of the house looks like a meeting place for piney woods Pentecostals...we may go with a forest green trim. Also I don't know if all of those water oaks are needed so close to the house.
A couple of out buildings here...the one in the back is 15X30, which gives some idea of the size of that red oak back there.
It was hard to get a good shot of this tree in the back, but I suspect it is a black walnut. The compound leaves are different than pecan or hickory.
And here is a little mystery structure out back. Pig pen? Chicken coop? Dog run? Country version of time out corner for unruly kids? Who knows.
Parking spot in front of the house after the azaleas have finished blooming.
The side yard has evidence of the previous owner's pursuits. The basketball goal will stay, the oversized prototype for satellite TV...maybe not.
Just a look back at the house...that's one of the pecan trees by the picnic table.
Looking down the length of the backyard, with a gate into the north pasture off to the left.
Gate into said north pasture, with a burn pile that needs lighting after a few good grass cuttings. Clean up that fencerow a bit, and there might be a good spot for a protein feeder to watch the deer come in from the porch.
Peeking around the large red oak by the storage shed back up towards the house.
Denise keeps asking what poison ivy looks like...
I found this patch in the shade going to the overgrown middle pasture. Roundup time!
Look back at the house from the south pasture.
The back of the south pasture with the property line to the right.
A little gate through the azalias into the property to the west. The current owners have that, too. It would be nice to add that 5-10 acre strip to ours (absolutely perfect barn site)...but that will have to be later, if at all.
I'm pretty sure this is the north pasture, but it got out of order in the pictures added. It looks low on the left side. I'll have to check out the drainage patterns for an appropriate pond site...this might be one.
